Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo faces backlash over ₦700k VIP package for Christian singles dating platform

Popular Nigerian relationship coach and pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has come under scrutiny online after promoting a platform where Christian singles can connect with what he described as “godly well-mentored ladies from all over the world.”
The clergyman recently advertised the Christian dating platform in a post on X (formerly Twitter), encouraging men who may feel that relationships are financially out of reach to consider joining the service.

According to him, relationships have become increasingly commercialised, making it difficult for young men to find genuine love. He subsequently introduced the platform as an avenue for Christian singles to meet potential partners.
In his words, he wrote:
“I feel for the men of this generation… relationships have been so commercialized nowadays that it’s almost impossible for a young man to find true love.”
He further encouraged men who wanted to meet Christian women from different parts of the world to join the platform, stating that there were different packages available.
The pastor revealed that the regular package costs ₦70,000, while the VIP package is priced at ₦700,000.
“If you are a guy and feel relationships are out of your reach because you are not rich or you just want to meet godly well-mentored ladies from all over the world, then you have to join, for as low as ₦70k for the regular package and ₦700k for the VIP package,” he added.
The promotion has since drawn attention online, with some social media users questioning the high cost of the VIP package, particularly in light of the pastor’s earlier remarks about relationships being too commercialised.
Others, however, defended the platform, arguing that the service is optional and that people are free to choose whichever package suits them.
