Nigerian lady searching for man she gave incorrect phone number at airport

Ada, a young Nigerian lady, has embarked on a quest to find a man named Michael, to whom she mistakenly gave an incorrect phone number during their encounter at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The incident occurred on July 1st, 2023, as both Ada and Michael were en route to Turkey, albeit to different destinations – Ada to the United Kingdom and Michael to Ankara.

Recounting the details of their brief encounter, Ada disclosed that Michael had requested her contact information, and she readily provided her UK phone number.

Eagerly awaiting his call or message, Ada was left disappointed when no communication arrived in the subsequent two weeks.

However, upon closer inspection, she discovered an error in the phone number she had given to Michael.

She mistakenly included the dialing code “+440” instead of the correct “+44,” omitting the initial “0.”

In essence, the correct number should have been “+447” followed by Ada’s personal number.

Ada expressed her concern that Michael might have misconstrued the mix-up as a deliberate act, believing that she had intentionally provided him with an incorrect number.

Determined to reconnect with him, she took to online platforms, publicly calling out to Michael and providing alternative means of contact.

She wrote;

Hi guys, i met a guy (Michael) at Abuja airport 2 weeks ago(1st July,23). We both flew to Turkey. I was on my way to the UK & he was going to Ankara Turkey. He requested for my number and i gave him my UK number. I have been expecting his call/message for 2 weeks now but …

i got none. I just realised now that there is a mix up in the number i gave him. I added +440 (and my number), instead of removing the “0”. It would have been +447…. (my number, without a Zero).

Just like when you want to call a Nigerian number from overseas you dial… You dial +23480…, without putting “080”. Because he doesn’t stay in the UK his mind may not tell him to removed the Z. He might even assume i gave him a wrong number, which I didn’t.

We had a few minutes conversation and we had a connection… I really like him. Michael if you’re here i’ll really appreciate if you take off the zero after “44” and call/text me, or send me a mail.”
