Napoli President announces deadline for Conte talks

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has announced that the next ten days will be crucial in determining Antonio Conte’s potential appointment.

Conte is anticipated to join Napoli for the 2024/25 season with a reported €8 million annual contract, making him the highest-paid coach in Serie A.

According to Football Italia, De Laurentiis highlighted at an event against racism in Trentola Ducenta, the importance of thorough evaluation.

“The next ten days will be decisive after making all the necessary and objective assessments. It is not fanaticism that must prevail but the fairness of reasoning.”

Sky Sport Italia had earlier reported significant progress in negotiations, with the club set to continue discussions with Conte in upcoming meetings.

These talks are expected to occur within the next two days.

Conte has been without a club since his mutual departure from Tottenham in March 2023.

The former Chelsea man has a good record in Italy, winning four Serie A titles, three with Juventus and one with Inter.
