“My mother-in-law told me her family does not…” — Bride cancels wedding two days before ceremony

A woman has reportedly cancelled her wedding just two days before the scheduled ceremony after a shocking conversation with her future mother-in-law.
The incident, shared by her friend on social media this week, has sparked widespread debate about marriage expectations, polygamy, and family influence in relationships.
Private meeting reveals unexpected family tradition
The bride-to-be was allegedly invited by her mother-in-law to a private location known only to both women, where she was informed of the family’s stance on polygamy.
The revelation, according to the narration, changed the course of what was supposed to be a weekend wedding celebration.
“My mother-in-law told me, if I still want to marry her son, in their family they don’t believe in one wife. She started giving examples of her husband’s family, saying even her husband and his relatives had multiple wives,” she said
Wedding cancelled amid heated revelations
The bride said she was further told that her future husband could have children outside marriage, and that it would not be considered cheating within their family structure.
This prompted concerns about consent and communication within the relationship.
“She told me her son does not even need to be informed because he will do what she says,” the bride recounted.
