Manchester United wins Premier League summer series

Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Everton in Atlanta, but the result was enough to secure them the 2025 Premier League Summer Series crown.

Despite promising attacking signs, defensive woes again haunted Ruben Amorim’s side.

Bruno Fernandes gave United the lead from the spot after a controversial penalty call, and Mason Mount later restored their advantage with a curling strike.

New signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha showed attacking promise, but the familiar cracks at the back raised fresh concerns.

Everton meanwhile, utilized United’s errors, with Iliman Ndiaye punishing Manuel Ugarte’s poor decision-making to equalize.

Then came a bizarre own goal as Amad Diallo’s clearance ricocheted off Ayden Heaven into the net to level the match again.

United’s transitions looked sharp, with Cunha twice going close, but the midfield imbalance and defensive lapses left Amorim visibly frustrated.
