Let’s Build a United Party – Seyi Makinde Urges PDP Members

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has urged Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members throughout the country to avoid problems that could divide the party and instead focus on its unity.

At a party retreat for elected officials on Saturday in Bauchi, the governor made these comments.

The governor urged party members to embrace peace and put aside worries that internal strife during the general elections would lead to a split within the party in his address to the crowd.

He gave his colleague’s governors the advice to keep the party united and, more significantly, to think ahead.

Governments come and go, but our nation remains, I’d want to remark in closing. And when required, we must act in the nation’s best interests as a responsible opposition party. “If there is no Nigeria, there is no us,” Makinde added.
