“If elected in 2027, I’ll restore subsidy, take money from governors to benefit Nigerians” – Sowore
African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has outlined his plans ahead of the 2027 presidential election, promising to restore subsidy and tackle capital flight if elected.
Speaking on the Morayo Show, Sowore claimed that some governors and politicians move money abroad while Nigerians continue to struggle financially.

“The immediate things I will do is to restore subsidy. I will take the money from the governors, who change them to dollars and take them to Dubai every month and put it in your pocket.
There’s virtually no senator in Nigeria that doesn’t have what they call BDC. That’s their private bank. That’s where they change money whenever money is available, and there’s capital flight. That’s why the rest of you are poor.”
Asked whether he believed he could win the 2027 election, Sowore urged Nigerians to choose what he described as the best candidate to solve their problems.
He also criticised former governors seeking the presidency, questioning their records after spending eight years leading their respective states.
“Nobody can convince me to support anybody who was a former governor before. You spent eight years as governor, you didn’t turn your state to Dubai, and you want to come and tell me you want to turn Nigeria to Dubai in four years. It’s a lie.” he stated.
Sowore further criticised Nigeria’s education system and what he described as “analog leadership” overseeing a digital generation.
On opposition coalition talks, he maintained that he had never been part of the political camp of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi or Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Sowore continues to campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election, presenting himself as an alternative to Nigeria’s established political figures.
