Jared Allen Early Life

Allen grew up on a horse ranch in Morgan Hill, California, after being born in Dallas, Texas.

Before transferring to Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos for his senior year, Allen spent his first two years of high school at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill.

Numerous sports scholarship offers had already been withdrawn from Allen, including one from the University of Washington, to which he had previously verbally committed.

He was voted First-Team All-League and Defensive Player of the Year as a senior at Los Gatos. He was also a first-team All-Central Coast Section selection and a Sports Illustrated “Who’s Who” selection.

After recording 96 tackles, 12 sacks, five forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries during his senior season, Allen was chosen by the North team for the North vs. South San Jose Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star football game.
