“I’ve gone home to manage my wife…” — Man leaves date stranded after realizing she was using ChatGPT

A man has sparked widespread reactions online after claiming he walked out of a first date with a woman he met on Snapchat, alleging that the outing quickly turned into what he described as an uncomfortable interrogation before ending with an unexpected twist.
According to the man, the date initially appeared normal until the woman began asking him a series of rapid-fire questions without allowing him to ask about her.
He claimed he later realised she was using ChatGPT to generate follow-up questions by typing each of his responses into her phone before continuing the conversation.

The man alleged that the woman suddenly reached across the table, took his phone and instructed him to unlock it.
After he complied, she went through his Instagram and Snapchat accounts before commenting on the number of women interacting with his posts.
The man said, “I smiled & said, “Can we stop with the interview & just have a normal conversation?”
He further alleged that the woman insisted she should be the only woman in his life apart from his family if they were to pursue a relationship, describing it as setting boundaries early.
According to him, the date took another turn when she allegedly asked whether he had brought her an expensive gift, claiming that “a real man” should arrive with one on a first date.
Man drives away, later reveals unexpected twist
The man claimed he told the woman the gift was in his car and excused himself to retrieve it. Instead, he said he drove away from the restaurant, leaving her behind.
He added that he chose not to block her number because he wanted her to settle the bill for the food and wine they had consumed before seeing a status update he posted after the incident.
In a humorous ending to his account, the man revealed that he is married, joking that the experience had convinced him that “cheating now in Lagos is too expensive,” adding that he might “try Ibadan or Ogun State” instead.
