It will be tough when I return – Antonio Conte warns

Antonio Conte has warned that his return to active coaching in football will be a terror for his rivals, amidst Napoli talks.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has been on a sabbatical, enjoying family time. However, in a recent statement at Gazzetta dello Sport event, he hinted: “When I return, it’ll be tough for everyone else.”

Conte has been linked to the Napoli managerial position in the wake of Rudi Garcia’s weak performances at the club.

But he dismissed the immediate possibility of taking up a new job on his Instagram Stories, saying he still wants to spend more time with his family.

He terminated his contract with Tottenham Hotspur mutually in March.

Speaking at the Sport event, Conte shared, “Stress is fuel for me, pressure provides motivation, because when you do win, it is even better.

“There is positive and negative stress, for me it is energy and pure adrenaline. I work very hard to reach those moments,” he added.

Conte said he is using his time off the pitch to gain more knowledge of the sport, while keeping an eye on changes and new developments.

“When I do return, I will be even more ready to handle the top challenges,” he claimed.

The former Chelsea man also alluded to the Napoli rumours. Recall that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis had reportedly considered Conte as a replacement for Rudi Garcia.

“I know that some stories emerged, but now I feel the need to dedicate time to myself and my daughter, who is growing up.

“It is a lifestyle choice. After that, I will be ready to get back to the battle. And when I do, it will be tough for everyone else,” he said.
