What OpenAI is doing to investigate the issue
According to OpenAI’s status page, the issue is now being investigated. During the downtime, the status page alternated between presenting an active incident and regular operations, which can occur when authentication systems are disrupted even if the core AI models remain functioning.
The corporation has yet to reveal the source of the outage or provide an estimated date for restoration.
The latest outage comes days after the first setback.
The new incident occurred just two days after OpenAI experienced another large outage that impacted ChatGPT, Codex, and its API services. That disturbance took nearly 24 hours to completely resolve.
With another outage so soon, customers have expressed concern about the platform’s current reliability.
