“I’m going nowhere” – Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo rejects asylum, vows to protect persecuted Christians

Plateau State clergyman, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has revealed that he turned down offers of asylum from several international countries at the height of alleged threats to his life by Islamist extremists.
The outspoken man of God, who serves as the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, said countries such as Australia, Austria, and other European nations offered him refuge.
According to Dachomo, he prefers to stay in Nigeria and continue advocating for persecuted Christians in Plateau in particular, and across the country in general.
He made the revelations during an interview on Wednesday, explaining that the asylum offers came at a time when death threats were reportedly being issued daily, alongside veiled warnings from the presidency.
The cleric said he rejected the offers because he is neither a coward nor someone who would abandon his flock for the safety of a foreign country.
“I can’t be afraid of them. They should be afraid of me. I’ve been offered asylum in Australia, Austria, and other countries, but I said no. I’m going nowhere. I stand with them,” he stated.
Dachomo added that while some friends, family members, and religious associates advised him to accept the asylum offers, he has never considered abandoning his people, who continue to face persecution from terrorists and Fulani bandits.
