“I was blind, now I can see” — Dino Melaye regrets past support for APC

Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has openly expressed deep regret over his past support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a grave political misjudgment.
Speaking during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme aired on Friday, Melaye declared that he has since distanced himself from the ruling party, which he accused of worsening Nigeria’s socio-economic crisis.
“Once I was blind, now I can see. I regret in totality. Just like you confess your sins daily in the Lord’s prayer, I ask for forgiveness. Anyone who has moved with the devil, anyone who has aligned with an unholy tendency, should regret it,” Melaye said.
The outspoken lawmaker didn’t hold back in criticizing the APC administration, blaming it for the growing hardship, hunger, and poverty afflicting millions of Nigerians.
Melaye, now aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed strong belief that the party is capable of producing a formidable candidate who can challenge and defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
“I am confident that the ADC will rise as a credible force. Nigerians are tired, and change is coming,” he said.
