“I still struggle to forgive my son…” – Woman opens up about painful loss involving her 15-year-old child

A Nigerian woman has opened up about a painful experience involving her first child, revealing that she has struggled for years to forgive him over the accidental death of her two-month-old baby.

According to the woman, the incident happened when her son was just six years old. She explained that the young boy accidentally threw the baby from a bed, resulting in the infant’s death.

The mother said she never told people what had truly happened, instead informing them that her baby had died a natural death.

In her words, she said:

“I have never told anyone this, but I still struggle with my first child, who is now 15. When he was just six years old, he accidentally caused the death of my two-month-old baby. He had thrown the baby from the bed, and sadly, the baby didn’t survive.”

She explained that although she knows her son was only six and that the incident was accidental, she has been unable to completely let go of the pain.

The mother said she has carried the painful truth privately for years while continuing to battle conflicting emotions over the tragedy.

“I couldn’t bring myself to tell people what really happened, so I told everyone that my baby died a natural death. He was only six. He was just a child himself, and I know it was an accident. But despite knowing this, I still haven’t been able to forgive him completely,” she added.

Her confession has prompted discussions about grief, guilt and the difficulty of processing traumatic experiences within families.

While some may sympathise with the mother’s struggle, others pointed out that her son was only six and could not have understood the consequences of his actions.
