“I snored all night…”— Man reveals what happened after female NYSC friend spent night in his room

A man has sparked widespread discussion on social media after sharing what he said truly happened when a female friend spent the night in his one-room apartment during their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year.

According to him, they became close friends during their service year, studying, eating and travelling together. Their closeness reportedly led many people in their lodge to assume they were secretly dating.

He explained that one weekend, heavy rainfall flooded the roads, leaving the woman unable to return home. With no safer alternative, she spent the night in his room, an incident that quickly fuelled rumours among neighbours.

What really happened that night

The man said the speculation continued for years, even though neither of them attempted to defend themselves. A decade later, they both attended each other’s weddings and remained close friends.

Recalling a question raised in their WhatsApp group years later, he said, “Be honest what really happened that night?”

The man replied, “We argued over who would sleep on the bed and she won.”

He further stated, “I slept on the floor, snored all night, and woke up with back pain.”

Reflecting on the experience, the man concluded, “People often mistake opportunity for intention.”
