“I let him know”- Lady recalls 10-year encounter with Olu Jacobs at AMCVA
A Nigerian lady identified as @TheLoliaba on X (formerly Twitter) has detailed her encounter with veteran Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs at age 17.
In a viral post, the lady disclosed that she crossed paths with the actor, who passed away at 84, on the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) red carpet.

Lady Recounts Encounter With Olu Jacobs At 17
At the event, she was tasked with assisting the makeup artists.
However, while heading to the elevator, as it was closing, the actor held it open for her.
During her encounter with the actor, she was visibly excited. Before exiting the elevator, he offered a handshake and inspiring advice about her career.
Reflecting on the decade-old encounter, she described it as a highlight at the start of her career.
Olu Jacobs’ Biography
Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, was a Nigerian actor and film executive who lived from 11 July 1942 to 16 September 2026.
He was born to parents from Egba Alake, but spent his early childhood in Kano, where he attended Holy Trinity School and was a member of the debating and drama societies.
In England, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. He began his career starring in several British television series and international films, including shows like The Goodies, Till Death Us Do Part and The Professionals.
