“I knew something”- Lady shares encounter with Alexx Ekubo in 2024

A Nigerian woman has shared details of her encounter with Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, in 2024, sparking buzz online.

Earlier, GistReel reported that Alexx Ekubo passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Evercare Hospital in Lagos.

According to his family’s statement, the 40-year-old actor died from complications of advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

Woman Breaks Silence on Alexx Ekubo’s Passing

In a Facebook post, Adaugo Onuegbu Nkwocha disclosed that she knew all along the actor was sick. According to her, when they crossed paths in 2024, he appeared lean and frail.

“Little did I know that it was in that same 2024 he was diagnosed with liver cancer, underwent a transplant, and returned to work too,” She stated.

In her now-viral Facebook post, the woman disclosed that the actor was the firstborn of his family and left a will prior to his passing.

Meanwhile, he leaves behind two younger sisters,  brothers, and his mother.

Reflecting on the actor’s demise, she stated, “I didn’t post him yesterday because I made a decision to stop announcing people’s deaths before their families especially young people”.

Notably, Alexx Ekubo’s passing leaves an indelible mark on the Nollywood industry, with tributes and condolences pouring in from fans and industry colleagues.
