“I have six children, what can ₦70k do?” – Man cries out to President Tinubu over economic hardship

A Nigerian man has stirred reactions online after making a heartfelt appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lamenting the harsh economic realities facing his family.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man, who appeared alongside his wife, revealed that he earns a monthly salary of ₦70,000 despite having six children to cater for.
According to him, the situation has become unbearable, as the income is no longer sufficient to meet even the most basic needs of his household.
Speaking emotionally, he disclosed that he and his wife were forced to drink garri just to get by, adding that they are uncertain about what their children will eat next.
“President Tinubu, this is me and my wife. My salary is ₦70,000 and she gave birth to six children. What can ₦70,000 do for someone that has six children? That is why I am pleading with you, please help us.
We both drank garri today, and we don’t know what our children will eat. Please, I beg you in the name of God, help us fix this country.”
The emotional plea has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy for the family while also highlighting the growing cost of living in the country.
