An Enugu family has been thrown into celebration after a woman delivered four healthy baby boys at a private hospital in Port Harcourt on Thursday, April 16, 2026, despite repeated antenatal scans showing only twins throughout the pregnancy.

The unexpected delivery has since sparked emotional reactions within the family, as relatives say no medical report ever indicated the presence of four babies until the moment of birth.

Brother overwhelmed as family rushes from Enugu during emergency labour

According to the newborns’ uncle, the situation escalated when labour began, forcing family members to travel urgently from Enugu to Port Harcourt to support the delivery process at the hospital.

“I left Enugu in a hurry when my brother called that his wife was in labour. When I got there, I met a man I have always known as strong, crying like a child because of the pressure and fear. Even when doctors said it would be a C-section, he almost fainted but after everything, God blessed us with four boys, not the twins we were expecting.”

Medical staff reportedly confirmed that the delivery was successful and all four babies and the mother are in stable condition after the surgery.
