How I made Peter Odili Governor in 1999 – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Founder of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has stated that former Rivers State governor Peter Odili was not originally meant to become governor in 1999.
The cleric made the remark while speaking to his congregation during a church service, stating that another man was destined to lead Rivers State at the time.
In his words, he said:
“Peter Odili was not supposed to be governor in 1999. I stopped the man who was destined to be governor of Rivers State in 1999 because he was attending Celestial Church of Christ and walking barefoot.”
According to Pastor Ibiyeomie, his intervention prevented the individual from emerging as governor during the 1999 political transition.
However, Peter Odili eventually became governor of Rivers State and served from 1999 to 2007.
This comes after Ibiyeomie also claimed that during the re-election bid of former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike, there were plans by political opponents to manipulate the results in favour of another candidate, Biokpomabo Awara, but he intervened.
The statement has sparked debate online, with many Nigerians sharing mixed reactions over the claim and its implications on religion and politics.
