“He told me to forget him” – Lady cries out as fiancé allegedly vanishes with ₦1.5m wedding loan

A lady has sparked reactions online after sharing how her fiancé allegedly disappeared after convincing her to take a ₦1.5 million loan for their wedding, only for her to later discover that he was married with children.

The story was posted on Facebook by Fegor Chime, where she recounted her heartbreaking experience and appealed for advice.

Relationship and Marriage Plans

She explained that she had been dating the man for six months before he proposed marriage. Shortly after the engagement, he reportedly suggested that they open a joint savings account to begin preparations for their wedding.

Trusting him, she agreed, and both of them started contributing money into the account.

Loan Taken for Wedding Preparation

While the man initially contributed small amounts, she consistently saved from her monthly salary and eventually contributed about ₦420,000.

The situation escalated when he allegedly convinced her to take a ₦1.5 million loan from her workplace, assuring her that they would repay it together after the wedding. The loan is now reportedly being deducted from her salary.

Sudden Disappearance

She became worried after she could no longer reach him for four days, as his phone remained switched off.

After contacting one of his friends, she was informed that he had travelled to another state.

However, things reportedly took a shocking turn when she reached out to him via Facebook Messenger.

He allegedly told her to forget about him and move on with her life, revealing that he was already married with two children and had only come to the area for work.

In her words: “…pls I have been dating this man for 6 months and he proposed to me. Shortly after, he suggested that we open a joint savings account so we could start saving towards our marriage. I trusted him, and we both started contributing.

He initially added 6,000 and later 3,500, while I was consistently saving from my monthly salary. I have contributed about 420,000. Later, he convinced me to take a loan from my workplace, assuring me that we would repay it after the wedding.

I agreed, and I borrowed 1.5 million, which is now being deducted from my salary. As I am writing this, I have not been able to reach him for 4 days. His phone has been switched off.

I contacted his friend, and I was told he said he traveled to another state. I reached out to him on Facebook Messenger, and his response shocked me. He told me to forget about him and move on with my life that he is married with 2 kids and he only came here to work.

I am devastated. I feel lost and I cannot even breathe properly right now. Mummy help me. Why me?”
