Allegations

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has designated an Abuja-based 41-year-old businesswoman, Halimat Tejuosho, wanted for allegedly collecting money under false pretences.

Ms Tejuosho, an Abuja society woman, founded Haleems Integrated Services Limited.

In a notice posted on its official X site on Monday and signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the anti-graft agency stated that Ms Tejuosho, whose photograph accompanied the statement, is wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The commission identified her as a Lagos State native, stating that her last known residence is House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.

Ms Tejuosho is apparently the South-West zonal women’s leader of the City Boys Movement, a pro-Tinubu political support group.

The agency urged members of the public with information regarding her whereabouts to contact its offices across the country, including those in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, and Abuja.

It also advised the public to contact it through official means or report to the nearest police station or other security organisations.

Ms Tejuosho has been the subject of long-running allegations as she prepares for an EFCC questioning in 2025.

Her accusations have included a business partner who claims she lived extravagantly by fraudulently misappropriating funds intended for performing a joint contract with her associates.

In 2023, she denied travelling abroad to avoid a lawsuit brought by her former business partner. She also disputed the claims.

The Nation reported in June 2025 that she was grilled by the EFCC about her alleged role in an appointment and contract scam.

The founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited was reportedly questioned about charges of receiving payments in exchange for promises of non-existent federal jobs and lucrative government contracts.

A victim accused her of deceiving others through an extensive scam including falsified documents and bogus appointment letters.

She has also emerged as a political figure over time. In 2024, some groups urged President Bola Tinubu to designate her as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, replacing Betta Edu.
