Gift Orban matches Osimhen’s Super Lig tally after stunning hat-trick
Gift Orban continued his impressive start to life in Turkey by scoring a second-half hat-trick as Amedspor thrashed Istanbul Başakşehir 5-0 in the Super Lig.
The Nigerian forward produced all three of his goals after the break, turning an already comfortable victory into a rout and taking his league tally to six goals in just five appearances.

His latest performance also saw him draw level with fellow Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen on the Super Lig scoring chart.
Orban runs riot after the break
Orban doubled Amedspor’s advantage seven minutes into the second half when he rose to meet Furkan Soyalp’s cross and directed his header into the bottom corner.
The 23-year-old needed only two more minutes to find the net again.
A quick counter-attack created the opening, with Ermal Krasniqi picking out Orban, who calmly finished from close range to put Amedspor in strong control.
The striker completed his hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining, once again benefiting from Krasniqi’s delivery before firing the ball home.
The three goals took Orban’s league tally to six, alongside one assist, since joining Amedspor on loan during the summer transfer window.
Osimhen target in sight
Orban has now scored against Trabzonspor, Kasimpasa and Başakşehir during his impressive opening to the campaign, quickly establishing himself among the Super Lig’s leading forwards.
His six goals match Osimhen’s league tally, although the Galatasaray striker reached that figure in four appearances before being sidelined with a hamstring injury. Osimhen has also registered two assists.
Orban’s form could strengthen his case for a return to the Nigeria squad, with the Super Eagles preparing for upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.
