It was quite an emotional moment for 35-year-old Gerard Pique after being substituted in his final match as a Barcelona player against Almeria.

Recall that the Spaniard who announced his retirement from football on Thursday, November 3, had said that Saturday’s match against Almeria in LaLiga will be his last at Camp Nou for the Catalan club after 14 years in the first team following his return from Manchester United in 2008.

In Saturday’s La Liga match, Pique started the game alongside Marcos Alonso in central defence, lasting 83 minutes before being replaced by Andreas Christensen.
