“Forward is still the only direction, eyes on the goal….” — Achimugu shares cryptic post after forfeiture of N8.94bn assets

Aisha Achimugu, a Nigerian entrepreneur, has made a mysterious social media statement in response to a court decision forfeiting N8.94 billion and 11 luxury automobiles to the government.

Following the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) suit, a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered the final confiscation of the assets on Thursday.

The forfeited assets include N4.65 billion worth of jewelry, 11 exotic cars worth N4.29 billion, $50,000, and N30 million in cash.

Achimugu, managing director/CEO of Felak Concept Group, published an Instagram photo on Friday that appeared to show her hands holding a black crocodile leather Louis Vuitton bag while wearing multiple bangles and rings.

She captioned the image with an optimistic message: “Forward is still the only direction. #ASAWAY #EYESONTHEGOAL”.

Achimugu’s legal difficulties began more than two years after her 50th birthday party in January 2024 on the Caribbean island of Grenada, when she organized a seven-day event attended by some of Nigeria’s top celebrities in the entertainment industry and other notable figures.

On April 29, 2025, the EFCC detained the businesswoman at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on suspicion of money laundering.

In March 2026, a federal high court in Abuja ordered the final confiscation of $13 million allegedly linked to Achimugu and her firm Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd, after the EFCC proved the money was the proceeds of crime.

Amidst the issue surrounding the monies reportedly tied to her company, rumors have emerged suggesting that the businesswoman was being sponsored by some politicians.
