Chinedu Okoli (born November 23, 1983), also known by his stage name Flavour N’abania, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter. He started his musical career as a drummer at a local church. Flavour is well-known throughout Africa and the world for his smash single “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)”. He is presently signed with 2nite Entertainment.
In 2008, he released his self-titled debut album, N’abania. Uplifted was Flavour’s second studio album, released in 2010. It was accompanied by the singles “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)”, “Adamma”, and “Oyi Remix”—the success of the album elevated Flavour to the ranks of Africa’s most sought-after performers. Following the publication of Uplifted, he was scheduled to appear at various concerts and social events.
Flavour Biography

Flavour was born to Mr and Mrs Okoli on November 23, 1983. His parents named him Chinedu Okoli. His father is named Benjamin Okolie. He has a brother named Okolie Chidera Emmanuel, also known as DJ Derekz.
He comes from Nigeria’s southeastern area and belongs to the Igbo tribe. He was born and raised in Enugu State. His ancestral homeland is Umunze, which is located in Anambra State’s Orumba South Local Government Area.
Flavour was raised Christian and attended a Pentecostal church as a child. His musical career began at the age of thirteen, when he joined his local church’s chorus. He began as a drummer in the choir, then learnt additional instruments and eventually became a musician.
Flavour received basic and secondary education at a prominent public school in Enugu State. He graduated from SoundCity Communications’ music institute on a music scholarship. Dekumzy, Isi Charles, and Nnachie all taught him about music creation through the curriculum.
Career
Flavour made his debut in Nigeria’s music scene at the age of 19 as a drummer and pianist for a local band in Enugu. Flavour was offered a performance at the City Centre in Enugu after learning to play the drums professionally. The enormous throng there inspired him to break new ground and achieve amazing heights. Flavour’s musical background allowed him to study music production from Dekumzy, Isi Charles, and Nnachie.
Flavour’s debut album, N’abania, was published through Obaino Music in 2008. The album’s success was relative and limited to Eastern Nigeria, specifically Enugu State. Flavour worked with Mr Raw on the album’s lead hit, “N’abania”. The song was recorded at Kingsley Ogoro’s studio in Lagos, Nigeria.
Flavour followed up on the relative success of his debut album with Uplifted, which was released in 2010. The record transcended national boundaries. Lolhiphop Records, a well-known South African record label, published the album due to popular demand. The album’s top singles are “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)”, “Adamma”, and “Oyi Remix” featuring Tiwa Savage.
Flavour’s third album, Blessed, was released on October 18, 2012, under 2nite Entertainment and iROKING LTD. The album is the follow-up to Uplifted. Because of the quantity of producers involved, it is arguably Flavour’s most successful album to date. It debuted on the same day as Flavour’s 2nite Club grand opening.
Thankful was released in December 2014. The album contains 22 tracks and lasts one hour and seventeen minutes. It received generally positive reviews from music reviewers and sold thousands of copies. The album includes hit songs, including the love ballad “Ololufe” with Chidinma and the fast-paced Afro-pop song “Wake Up” starring Wande Coal.
Ijele: The Traveller was released in 2017. The album includes 17 tracks, one of which features Flavour’s adoptive son Semah G. Weifur, a blind Liberian youngster who was found singing alone in a classroom.
Flavour released two singles in 2018: “Crazy Love” (featuring Mama Africa Yemi Alade as Flavour Nabania) and “Yemi Alade“. Later that year, he collaborated with the Igbo traditional duo Umu Obiligbo on the traditional song “Awele”. Flavour’s seventh studio album, Flavour of Africa, was released on December 4, 2020, and features 16 tracks.

Controversy
On August 29, 2012, Nigerian Entertainment Today stated that Flavour was involved in a legal dispute with Ghanaian duo Wutah over the alleged theft of “Kwarikwa”. According to the report, “Kwarikwa” is an exact duplication of the aforementioned duo’s song “Kotosa”. The singing pair claimed that Flavour stole their song’s rhythm, chorus, and tempo.

Flavour is not married, but he is the father of three gorgeous children: Munachi Gabrielle Okoli, Sofia Okoli, and Kaima Okoli, as well as an adopted child named Semah G. Weifur.
