Family were not informed of Alexx Ekubo’s death in time — Fresh concerns arise

Fresh concerns have emerged over the death of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo after members of his family alleged that they were not properly informed about the circumstances surrounding his passing.

In a statement shared on social media by a family member identified as Davidekubo, the Ekubo family claimed that several events leading up to the actor’s death remain unclear and unanswered.

The statement alleged that the family was not informed when the actor passed away on May 11.

It further claimed that the family member who officially received Alexx Ekubo’s body from the mortuary was not permitted to view the body.

Family questions circumstances of death

According to the statement, the family also did not approve the decision to wear white during what appeared to be a celebration of life ceremony for the actor.

The family described the death of the 40-year-old actor as sudden and said they are still seeking answers regarding how and why he died.

“With grave pain, heaviness and sorrow; the family of Ikenna Alex Ekubo advises the public that the events leading up to his passing have been unclear,” the statement read.

“The Ekubo family are yet to receive answers on how and why Alex passed away suddenly.”

Mother and sibling yet to receive formal update

The statement further alleged that Alexx Ekubo’s biological mother and his only biological sibling had yet to be formally briefed on the circumstances surrounding his death.

“@alexxekubo only biological sibling @omaalex3 and biological mother who are alive and well are yet to be formally updated about the circumstances surrounding the untimely and suspicious passing of Alex,” the family member wrote.
