Fabrizio Romano gives update on Arsenal’s reported Osimhen interest

Fabrizio Romano has played down reports linking Arsenal with a potential move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, saying there is currently no concrete negotiations between the clubs.
The Nigeria international has been linked with several European clubs during the summer, but Arsenal have yet to make an offer or open formal talks with the Turkish champions.

Osimhen’s high salary and transfer valuation are also expected to make any potential deal difficult to complete.
Romano reveals latest on Arsenal
Galatasaray’s interest in Arsenal players has helped fuel speculation over Osimhen’s future.
The Turkish champions have reportedly shown interest in Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, with Martinelli understood to have rejected the possibility of moving to Istanbul.

Osimhen’s name was also discussed in relation to the clubs, but Romano insists there has been no progress towards a transfer.
“Victor Osimhen is a similar situation to Barcelona, Viktor Gyökeres at this stage. Nothing really concrete happening at this stage between Arsenal and Galatasaray. No negotiations, no bids, no conversations from what I heard,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“At the moment, it’s a quiet topic. Also, Galatasaray sources say that their understanding is that the club absolutely want to keep Victor Osimhen.”
The transfer expert added that Galatasaray would resist any attempt to prise the striker away from the club.
Galatasaray determined to keep Osimhen
Romano believes the Turkish champions would fight to retain Osimhen even if interest develops later in the transfer window.
“Galatasaray will fight in every way, even if they receive proposals, to keep Victor Osimhen,” he said.
He also stressed that there had been no concrete club-to-club negotiations involving either Osimhen or Gyökeres as of Monday morning.
Osimhen remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029 after making his move to the Turkish club permanent.
