Drama at UNIZIK as final-year students defy ‘signing off’ ban

On Thursday, tension and drama erupted at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, after some final-year students defied the school’s ban on the popular post-examination tradition known as “signing off.”
In a viral video shared by Facebook user Okwa C. Ifugo, two unidentified female students were seen being escorted out of the campus building by armed security personnel for wearing shirts scribbled with markers.
The circular stated that the activity often causes chaos, disruption, and occasionally violent incidents, negatively affecting the smooth running of academic activities.
The video shows security personnel enforcing the ban, removing students from the premises while onlookers watched in shock.
The incident has since sparked widespread reactions on social media.
