Coronavirus hits 42 countries, kills 33 in Africa – WHO

The World Health Organisation, WHO, Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, has disclosed that there are now 1,117 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 42 countries across Africa.

The UN health agency stated this in its regional official twitter account @WHOAFRO on Sunday.

According to the WHO, there have been 33 COVID-19-related deaths as at Sunday.

“1,117 confirmed #COVID19 cases in #Africa in 42 countries,” WHO said.

“There have been a total of 33 reported deaths in Algeria (15), Egypt (8), Burkina Faso (3), Morocco (3), Congo – Kinshasa (1), Gabon (1), Sudan (1), Tunisia (1).

“84 recoveries Egypt (39), Algeria (32), Burkina Faso (5), Senegal (5), Côte d’Ivoire (1), Morocco (1), Nigeria (1).”
