Chelsea confirm Gittens signing as Madueke nods to Arsenal move

Chelsea have officially announced the signing of highly-rated winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £55 million.
The 20-year-old England Under-21 international was seen on the pitch with his new teammates moments after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Palmeiras in the Club World Cup quarter-final at Lincoln Financial Field.
Gittens has signed a seven-year contract running until 2032, continuing Chelsea’s strategy of long-term investments in young talent.
“It feels great. It’s a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea,” Gittens told the club’s official website.
“I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.”
Gittens, formerly of Manchester City’s academy, registered 17 goal contributions for Dortmund last season and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising wide players.
His arrival further bolsters Enzo Maresca’s attacking options and could potentially open the door for the exit of Noni Madueke, who has agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
“More on Noni Madueke and Arsenal story reported earlier today.
“The agreement on personal terms is ready and done, with parties advancing on details this morning.
“Madueke said yes to Mikel Arteta’s project.
“Club to club talks will start in the upcoming days,” transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on X.
Meanwhile, Gittens has already joined up with Chelsea’s squad in the U.S. and is expected to feature in their Club World Cup semi-final clash against Fluminense on Tuesday.
