Benue commissioner kidnapped by gunmen

Chief Dennis Ekpe Ogbu, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Benue state was on Sunday, December 4, kidnapped by gunmen.

Ogbu was kidnapped alongside one Honourable Agbo Ode, one of his in-laws and the driver, close to David Marks Farm, after Akpa Otobi while on their way from Otukpo to Utonkon in Ado Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred shortly after they attended a Church programme, where Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial district, dedicated his newly inaugurated Campaign Council to God at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Otukpo.

While the police have recovered the Hilux van, the whereabouts of the commissioner is still not known. The car has been taken to the Divisional Police office in Otukpo.
