Alfie Gilchrist signs new Chelsea contract until 2026

Alfie Gilchrist has penned a two-year contract extension with Chelsea, until 2026, with an option for an additional year.

The Chelsea academy graduate has made significant contributions this season under Mauricio Pochettino, earning 12 senior appearances for the Blues.

Expressing his joy at extending his stay, Gilchrist said, “Signing this contract at Chelsea is a massive achievement for me and my family.

“It was a no-brainer, and every time I’ve signed a contract here, it has felt nicer and nicer. But now I want to keep on pushing on and keep improving,” he told Chelsea media team.

Gilchrist joined the Blues as an Under-11, and has rose through the ranks at Cobham.

He gained attention during the 2020/21 campaign, playing for club’s Under-18.

He went on to captain the side on several occasions, attracting interest from the professional team.

He was offered his first professional contract the same year, after he was named Scholar of the Year.
