Akon Reveals Why Many Musicians Go Broke

Akon has spoken out about the reality of fame in the music industry, stating that many artists are not as wealthy as people imagine.
During an interview with Hip Hop Eye, the singer noted that while the music industry generates a lot of money, musicians are frequently the last to get paid.
According to Akon, the lavish lifestyles depicted in music videos and social media can be deceptive, as many performers have financial difficulties behind the scenes.
He said:
“In the music industry, the artist is the last to receive payment. He’s broke, yet he’s the most renowned.”
The artist went on to say that individuals who genuinely generate long-term fortune in entertainment are typically behind-the-scenes workers such as producers, songwriters, managers, agents, and lawyers.
Akon recommended young individuals interested in entertainment to explore other aspects of the industry rather than focusing solely on becoming performers.
“If you want to make real money, go to other sectors of the music business,” he replied.
The remark has prompted debate online, with many followers noting that popularity does not always equate to financial success.
