AfroBasket 2025 final: D’Tigress face Mali in title clash

Nigeria’s D’Tigress will lock horns with Mali on Sunday (today) in the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The defending champions secured their place in the final after edging Senegal 75-68 in a tense semi-final encounter on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mali advanced with a dominant 76-50 win over South Sudan.

D’Tigress, led by coach Rena Wakama, are aiming to make history as the first nation to win five consecutive Women’s AfroBasket titles.

The Nigerian side also boasts a dominant 28-game winning streak in the competition.

Mali, champions in 2007, will be fighting to end Nigeria’s reign and claim their second title.

However, history favours the Nigerians, who defeated Mali 70-59 in the 2021 final.
