Fernando Santos sacked as Portugal's coach after quarterfinal defeat to Morocco

Fernando Santos has been relieved of his job as Portugal’s coach following the European team’s quarterfinal defeat to Morocco at the 2022 World Cup.

The 68-year-old tactician who was in charge of the team for 8 years and also coached them to victory at Euro 2016, failed to repeat the success of his early tenure in Qatar and saw Portugal crash out to Morocco in the quarter-final after weeks of dealing with the drama surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo.
