1 month marriage ends as wife refuses to break her SIM card

A marriage that lasted barely one month has reportedly ended after a disagreement over a mobile phone number, sparking debate on social media about trust, control, and personal relationships within marriage.
The discussion began after a woman shared a story on X, claiming that her friend’s newly wedded husband demanded that she destroy her SIM card and obtain a new phone number shortly after their wedding.
According to the account, the husband said the move would help her cut ties with people from her past and focus solely on their marriage.
However, the request did not sit well with the woman.
She reportedly argued that she could not simply cut off friends, family members, and other individuals who had played important roles throughout her life.
While reaffirming her commitment to her husband, she maintained that marriage should not require abandoning meaningful relationships.
Disagreement escalates
According to the post, the husband allegedly presented his wife with an ultimatum, asking her to choose between him and the people in her life.
The woman reportedly responded that she would always choose her husband and prioritise her marriage, but insisted that doing so did not mean she had to sever connections with friends and loved ones.
As tensions increased, she proposed a compromise. She allegedly told her husband that she would agree to change her SIM card if he was willing to do the same and cut off people from his own life.
The suggestion was reportedly rejected.
The husband allegedly maintained that, as the head of the family, his wife was expected to obey his instructions without question.
Marriage reportedly ends after one month
The disagreement eventually became a major source of conflict between the couple, with the woman refusing to comply with the demand.
According to the social media post, the situation deteriorated to the point where the marriage ended just one month after the wedding.
