Zekeri Idris makes comparison of living conditions and life expectancy in Nigeria

Social commentator Zekeri Idris has stirred reactions online following remarks comparing living conditions in Nigeria with those in parts of Europe and North America.
While appearing on the BTC podcast, Idris argued that relocating Nigerians to cities like Vienna or Zurich would significantly reduce the number of personal struggles they often pray about, suggesting that improved living conditions could shift focus from survival to gratitude.

He also highlighted disparities in life expectancy, claiming that Nigerians face shorter lifespans compared to citizens of countries like Canada, attributing the gap to systemic challenges rather than fate.
The commentator further criticized governance, pointing to issues such as inadequate healthcare infrastructure and unreliable electricity, while referencing leaders who seek medical care abroad.
His words …
“You know that if they take you today from here and put you in Vienna, Austria, or they put you in Zurich, Switzerland, 90% of your prayer point will naturally dissipate. You only have one prayer point. God, thank you. God, thank you. I thank you for all the good things you are doing for me. I thank you, Lord. Bless you, Lord. Thank you.
Every morning, God, thank you. No, it’s true. No prayer point again. It’s a fact. Because you’re already in heaven at that time. You’re only thanking God.
Your life expectancy is 54 years in Nigeria. The life expectancy of a Canadian is 75 years. 79 years actually. See the gap. Then you d!£ at 54. They say God called you. And God is not calling Canadians. So God loves you more than Canadians. But… It’s only you they are calling. God did not call you.
This system called you. A system where your president cannot take treatment in his country. He promised you power. He has gone to buy solar. Disconnected. Leave you. Now he promised you power, but you don’t disconnect. That’s not a joking matter….”
