“Your mum called and pleaded that I should not have sex with you…” — Brown tells his wife, Morayo
Media personality Morayo Afolabi Brown has opened up about her marriage in a rare joint appearance with her husband on The Morayo Show.
In Episode 28 of the programme, viewers saw a softer and more personal side of the usually composed broadcaster as the couple discussed love, faith and commitment.
Faith at the Centre of Their Union
During the conversation, Morayo asked her husband what guided him as a Christian while building their relationship. His response surprised many viewers.
“I was lucky I interacted with your mum,” he said.

He went on to praise his mother-in-law warmly. “By the way, Morayo had the most fantastic mum in the world. Your mom called me privately and pleaded, ‘Do not have sex with her until we get married.’
“She said, ‘I’m not trying to protect her, but I’m just trying to honor God.’”
According to him, that conversation shaped the direction of their relationship. He explained that choosing to obey that request strengthened the foundation of their marriage.
“There are certain demands God will place on you if you obey His rules. By His grace, we got married on January 19, 2011, and welcomed our first child exactly a year later, on January 18, 2012,” Mr. Brown said.

A Story of Patience and Conviction
The couple’s story offered viewers more than romance. It reflected patience, discipline and shared values.
