You testimony doesn’t enable spiritual growth, devotion or maturity – Pastor Harrison Anyintete tells Skales

Apostle Harrison Anyintete has reacted to singer Skales’ recent testimony about how his song gained renewed popularity after going viral through a dance by Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.

It would be recalled that while speaking at Harvesters, Skales had revealed how his prayer points were answered in one day after Lamine Yamal shared a video of him dancing to his song, Shake Body.

Apostle Harrison Anyitete.

Apostle Harrison Anyitete reacts

In a lengthy response, the cleric distanced himself from any personal dispute with the musician, stressing that his concerns were not directed at Skales as an individual but at the role of the church in projecting the testimony.

Anyitete questioned the decision of Skales’ local church to publicly showcase the testimony, arguing that it did not promote spiritual growth, devotion, or maturity among believers.

He maintained that the testimony failed to encourage godly values and warned that presenting such narratives in church settings could send the wrong message to younger people.

Apostle opines his music promotes immorality

According to the cleric, highlighting success linked to music he described as promoting immorality could encourage others to pursue ungodly paths while still expecting divine blessings.

He emphasised that this, in his view, sets a poor example within the Christian community.

His post below …

“Dear @youngskales , since you reached me privately, you and I don’t have a relationship so I don’t think we should have a private chat.

The conversation is not even about you, naturally, I don’t think you are a serious believer, thus the issue is not your issue.

The issue is really about your local church.

I honestly think they shouldn’t project your testimony on SHAKE BODY, it doesn’t enable spiritual growth, devotion or maturity.

Your testimony does not inspire Godliness.

I don’t have any issues with you dear brother.

If you gave that testimony on your own platform, it is really not my business, i believe you have the right to enjoy the fruit of your labour, it is your labour. However, if your music that promoted immorality has succeeded, your church shouldn’t have projected that as testimony, it will only make more younger people do immoral music and immoral things while seeking God’s blessings on it.

It is the very wrong example.

I have no issues with you sir, I believe the best of you, I hope your local church can do better with what they project as testimonies to saints else we will have more people projecting ungodly things and mixing it with godliness.”
