“You has 48 hours to apologise for…” — Honour calls out comedian Mark Angel over getting married

Social media commentator Honour Oriretan has criticised comedian Mark Angel over his recent wedding, describing the timing as insensitive amid rising insecurity concerns in Nigeria.
Oriretan made the remarks in a post shared on social media, linking the comedian’s marriage to the ongoing abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
He argued that the celebration reflects a lack of empathy for victims currently affected by insecurity in the country.
Criticism Over Timing of Wedding
The commentator claimed that holding a wedding at a time when the nation is facing distressing security challenges sends the wrong message to the public.
He further suggested that many of the kidnapped victims in Oyo State could be fans of the comedian, insisting that public figures should be more mindful of national mood before engaging in celebrations.
Quoting his post, Oriretan said: “Mark Angel marrying at this time the country is bleeding is unwise. A proof of ‘I don’t care’ attitude, lack of empathy.”
He also added: “Those kids, teachers kidnapped in Oyo state are probably his fans but thinking marrying now is the best way to show them support is more unwise.”
On the age gap, he wrote: “Most unwise marrying a girl probably in her early 20s instead of from his age. THIS SURE A MISPLACED PRIORITY.”
Oriretan concluded with a strong demand, stating: “MY JUDGEMENT: Mark Angel has 48hrs to apologize, declare this wedding invalid to show solidarity with those kids, teachers suff£ring in the bush & redo fresh wedding after their release. Act fast.. Y’all be wise.. Don’t be unwise.”
