Reality TV star and actor Pere Egbi has shared an emotional old chat he had with Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo months before reports of his alleged death surfaced online.

Pere posted screenshots of their chat from August 2025, last year, on social media, alongside a heartbreaking message about friendship, life, and the importance of checking up on loved ones.

Pere Recounts Checking Up on Alex

In the resurfaced chat, Pere had reached out to Alex to check on his wellbeing.

He wrote: “Brother, I’m checking in on you. Hope you’re doing okay.”

Responding, Alex said: “Hello bro. I’m good good. How are you & yours?”

Pere later told him he was in the United States hustling and added that people should always check on one another because “life is short.”

Alex appreciated the gesture and prayed for Pere’s safety.

“May God guide & protect you in all you do. Thank you brother. I appreciate you checking in,” Alex wrote.

Pere Shares Emotional Tribute

Reacting emotionally while sharing the chat online, Pere Egbi said the exchange now means much more to him.

He wrote: “Jesus!!!!!! Jesus… this one hurts. I had the nudge to reach out to you months ago, just to check on you and pray for you. You didn’t say much… but now that moment means even more to me.

“Life is short. Please check on people while you still can. Rest well, my brother Alex. May God guide you home.”
