In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, Ify Ekubo revealed Alexx Ekubo had plans to be in Houston, promising to call her before his birthday.
Reflecting on the actor’s legacy, she stated, “You were a mentor to my children and their elder brother.It is well”.
Alexx Ekubo’s Service of Songs
The Service of Songs for the late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo was held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos.
Guests were required to wear white as a symbol of purity and celebration of life.
Notably, family, friends, and colleagues from across the Nigerian entertainment industry gathered to pay their last respects.
His close friend IK Ogbonna broke down in tears while giving a tribute, stating he wished Alex was alive to see the love being shown.
Additionally, Nollywood actresses Nancy Isime and Yemi Alade also spoke at the event, remembering Alex as a kind and uplifting person.
The emotional night kicked off his burial rites ahead of his final interment in Arochukwu, Abia State.
