“Y’all are turning real lovers to players” — Man complain relationships are not genuine anymore
A man has stirred online conversation after openly lamenting the state of modern relationships, saying genuine love is fast disappearing as mind games, materialism and social media pressure take over dating culture.
“Y’all are turning real lovers to players. You have turned relationships into mind games. Some of us didn’t break up with our ex because of cheating or violence, some of us broke up because of genotype, family issues and things that could affect the future.”
“Everything Is Now a Transaction”
He explained that not every breakup happens because of betrayal, stressing that many relationships end due to deeper, long-term concerns.
“Now everything is love bombing, mind games, and competition. We can’t even have meaningful conversations again. It’s all about bags, wigs, money and Instagram highlights,” he said.
However, he said today’s dating scene has been reduced to manipulation, unrealistic standards and emotional games, where people are more interested in benefits than commitment.
The man also criticised the growing trend where some people enter relationships just to enjoy expensive dinners, try out new restaurants or create content for social media.
According to him, dating has now become a way to “use people” rather than build genuine emotional connections.
Fear of love going extinct
He added that both men and women are quick to label each other, calling men jobless or women gold diggers, without giving room for understanding.
He warned that if this continues, meaningful relationships and marriages may soon become rare.
