“Worst person you can marry is a religious person” — Man claims, gives reasons

A man has sparked debate on social media, claiming that religion has done more harm than good in modern society.

In a post that quickly gained attention, he argued that religion has “destroyed as many lives as it has helped spread the gospel,” adding that while it has done some good, the negative impact is far greater.

Religion or Humans?

He criticised the practice of ending marriages over disagreements about church attendance, calling it one of “the many absurdities of religion.”

He suggested that religion itself may not be the main problem, but rather humans, who created and sometimes weaponized it.

“Humans created religion as a way to communicate with a higher power. But they also weaponized it,” he wrote.

Historical Impact

The man highlighted the role of religion in some of history’s worst events, including jihads, crusades, and religious persecution.

According to him, belief in acting on behalf of God often leads people to justify actions they would never otherwise consider.

He said: ” Jihads. Crusades. Religious persecution. You name it. It became a launchpad for global destruction.

“When people believe they are acting on behalf of God, they often feel justified doing things they would never otherwise do.”

Advice on Relationships

He concluded with a warning to those considering marriage, stating, “The worst person you can marry is a religious person. Get yourself a godly person to be with.”
