“Why pay ₦150k for a hotel and give her ₦30k?” – Lady sparks debate over comment on men’s spending
A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after calling out men who spend big on hotels but give women very little afterward.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she questioned why some men would lavish hundreds of thousands of naira on a hotel, yet give the woman who made them happy only a small sum.
In her words, she said:
“As a man, why will you pay ₦150k for a hotel, ₦100k or even ₦200k? You will now spend the night with a woman till morning, that same woman that made you happy, you will now give her ₦30k, ₦50k, even ₦20k.
Una no dey shame? If you give her the exact amount you paid for the hotel, what will happen to you?”
She further stressed that such behavior shows a lack of appreciation and respect for women who contribute to a man’s happiness.
Her post quickly went viral, prompting widespread discussion across social media about how men can lavishly spend on lifestyle but fail to properly value the women they spend time with.
While some women applauded her for speaking their mind, other men questioned whether her points were fair.

One user wrote, “If a man can spend ₦200k on a hotel, giving me ₦20k is pure disrespect 😩.” Another added, “Na wa oo. Everything is just money with women.”
