Mukoro Ereremena Michelle, the eldest of Mr. and Mrs. Mukoro’s three daughters, was born on November 8, 2000, in Delta State, Nigeria. Michelle grew up in the Urhobo village of Delta State’s South-South region, where she was influenced by both strong Christian beliefs and tremendous adversity.

After her grandmother died, her childhood became stressful. With her mother away at school, young Michelle was left at the mercy of her maternal aunts, who subjected her to horrific abuse. In a candid interview with Hip TV in March 2025, she revealed unpleasant recollections of being refused food before school and barred from sleeping on mattresses.

Career

Michelle, a runaway adolescent with few finances, encountered the harsh reality of Nigeria’s economic landscape. Her survival instinct kicked in, and she began looking at prospects in the expanding Nigerian entertainment sector in 2016. Initially hoping to be a Nollywood actor and sketch writer, she began generating content that highlighted actual Nigerian experiences.

Unlike many creators who chased viral trends, Michelle’s work focused on actual people’s struggles—street vendors, homeless youth, suffering families, and widows facing eviction.

King Mitchy’s humanitarian activity took a dramatic turn when she attracted the notice of Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu. In December 2023, Seyi donated an inaugural donation of ₦10 million to support her humanitarian initiatives, starting a revolutionary partnership.

This financial support allowed King Mitchy to dramatically expand her operations, addressing more suffering families and undertaking larger-scale initiatives. The alliance strengthened during 2024 and into 2025.

In August 2025, Seyi gave an additional ₦15 million to King Mitchy’s organization to support underprivileged girls and families in Lagos and Delta State. This grant enabled her to give complete aid, including housing, education, and skill development programs.

During a live stream with Carter Efe, King Mitchy revealed that Seyi Tinubu has given her over ₦100 million to support her humanitarian endeavours. This astronomical sum is one of the most significant personal philanthropic gifts to grassroots charity activity in Nigeria’s social media era.

Controversy

King Mitchy is locked in a heated online fight with activist VeryDarkMan over school upgrades, NGO finances, and purported personal claims, which has sparked considerable social media outrage and legal action. The scandal began when Nigerian influencer King Mitchy, also known as Mukoro Michelle, documented her six-day refurbishment of a public school in Delta State, claiming help from high-profile personalities like Don Jazzy and Seyi Tinubu.

She chastised campaigner VeryDarkMan (VDM) for the delays in using donated NGO funding, encouraging him to take action rather than simply writing online. VDM reacted by questioning her motivations, implying political influence behind her efforts, and alleging inappropriate behaviour by Seyi Tinubu.

Journalist Livinus Nwosu produced a 20-minute inspection video revealing that the school had only been partially refurbished, with several classrooms still in bad condition and the borehole inoperable, throwing doubt on Mitchy’s assertions.

VDM claimed that Seyi Tinubu had been sponsoring King Mitchy’s lifestyle and initiatives since 2023, and he used a vulgar “lollipop” term to suggest inappropriate behaviour.

Mitchy denied any romantic relationship and used purported chat screenshots with Seyi Tinubu to defend herself, threatening legal action for defamation.

During the feud, King Mitchy’s Instagram business page was suspended, which she blamed on VDM’s influence and fan complaints.

King Mitchy has expressed emotional anguish about the criticism, citing her history of generous actions and financial aid to those in need while bemoaning that the rivalry is overshadowing her work.

She has also cautioned VDM about probable counteractions on social media accounts and accused him of presenting himself as morally superior.

Some people support VDM’s charges of political image laundering, while others see his language as slanderous. The feud highlights the convergence between influencer culture, philanthropy, and politics in Nigeria’s digital world, demonstrating how altruistic deeds can become enmeshed in social media controversies.

As of February 27, 2026, the feud is still ongoing, with King Mitchy defending her reputation, VDM continuing to criticise her, and public debate taking place across social media platforms. Legal threats and leaked discussions have fuelled the drama, making it one of Nigeria’s most hotly debated online debates.
