A Nigerian lawyer has sparked reactions online after revealing that a woman who wants to legally end her marriage asked whether her husband could continue paying her younger sister’s school fees after their divorce.

The lawyer, identified as @ChisomAgbafor on X, formerly Twitter, shared the unusual request on her page while expressing surprise at the woman’s expectations.

‘You Want to Legally End Your Marriage’

According to the lawyer, the woman was seeking legal advice on whether her husband could be compelled to continue funding her sister’s education after the marriage was dissolved.

“You want to legally end your marriage, and you’re asking me if your husband can continue paying the school fees of your sister who is in 300 level,” she wrote.

The lawyer explained that the woman was specifically interested in knowing whether there was a legal way to ensure her husband continued paying the fees until her sister completed her final year.

‘Can He Continue Paying After the Divorce?’

The lawyer further revealed that the woman wanted to know if she could legally persuade her husband to continue supporting her sister financially even after the divorce.

“You want to know whether I can legally persuade him to pay for her final year even after the divorce,” she stated.

The request appeared to leave the lawyer amused, prompting her to question where some women were getting such expectations from.

“Where are you people finding this type of wives? 😭” she wrote.

The lawyer’s post has since sparked reactions on X, with users sharing different views about the woman’s request and whether a former husband should continue paying his ex-wife’s sister’s school fees after divorce.
