“What do I do?” – Young lady cries out over wrinkled hands

A lady has cried out for help after opening up on her long-standing struggle with wrinkled hands and dark knuckles.

In a video circulating online, she explained that the condition has bothered her for years and has made her feel self-conscious because her hands appear older than the rest of her body.

Says the Condition Is Inherited

According to her, the wrinkled appearance of her hands is something she inherited from her mother. She noted that although she does not resemble her mother much physically, this particular trait was passed down to her.

She explained that the issue has been present since childhood, despite trying different remedies in an attempt to improve the appearance of her skin.

Multiple Remedies Tried Without Success

The lady revealed that she has used several skincare products over the years, including shea butter, glycerin, and Vaseline, but none provided the results she hoped for.

She also said her skin is extremely dry, which forces her to apply shea butter regularly to prevent severe dryness and wrinkling.

She added that the dryness also makes her prone to dark knuckles, another issue she has tried repeatedly to fix.

Treatment Still Showing Little Result

She further disclosed that she recently started using tretinoin in December in an effort to improve the condition of her knuckles.

However, after several months of consistent use, she said she has not seen significant changes.

In her words: I’ve tried many, many things and it’s still not working. I don’t know what to do again. Now, I want you to look at my hands, okay? I want you to look at my hands really well and look at my face. I hope you can see me well. I’m not really a make-up girl and I want you to look at my skin, like just my hands, right? Just look at my hands. Normal, let’s look at my hands. Um, and then look at this. Let me see, you can see my hands and you can see this. Can you tell the difference? You can tell that my hands are looking very, very wrinkled. I’ve had someone ask me why is your hand looking older than your body? This is inheritance, I inherited it from my mother. I don’t look so much like my mother so she felt like this particular one you must get it. I’ve used everything right from when I was a child. My hands have always been wrinkled. I don’t know what to do. I’ve used shea butter, glycerol, and I became so dark. I’ve used lots of glycerin. It kind of makes the hands more wrinkled. I don’t know what to do. Secondly, the knuckles, the dark knuckles. Because of how dry the skin around, because this thing is as a result of dryness. Like you see my skin, if I am not using, like I can’t really go two, three days without using shea butter. If I try it, my skin will become very, very wrinkled. So I’m always using a lot of shea butter because of how dry my skin is. Now because of that dryness, I am prone to dark knuckles. Because of that dryness, I am prone to dark knuckles. I’ve done everything I can to erase this. There was a time when I used only Vaseline, it didn’t work. So at those times I was using only baby soap too bad. Right now, I’m using tretinoin and it’s clearing. I started using tretinoin in December last year, December, January, February, and look at, there’s no real result because it’s not like it was black. It’s not like the knuckles have been black, just kind of dark. I hope you can tell, yeah, just kind of dark, not like they are black. But I’ve not seen a particular product for four months straight and actually working should give you good. As you can see, the dark knuckles are still there so I need help but I don’t know what to do again. How do I let go? How do I make these wrinkles go because my hands are looking older than my body. If you look at my face, it’s very different from this. So shame and pride aside, I’m here to say I need help please. What do I do?…”
