A Nigerian lady who recently went viral for rejecting a public marriage proposal on her university campus has spoken out to address the situation and clarify what truly happened.

The student of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), widely known online as Angelgrey TV, became a trending topic after a video showed her turning down a proposal that took place in front of other students.

Lady Speaks After Viral Proposal Rejection

In response to the growing reactions online, the young woman explained that the man involved in the incident is only her friend. She stressed that there has never been any romantic relationship between them.

According to her, they never dated at any point, contrary to what many people have assumed on social media since the video surfaced.

She also dismissed claims suggesting that the man sponsored her education or supported her financially during her studies.

She Was Surprised by the Public Proposal

The student further explained that she was completely unaware of the proposal plan. She said the man suddenly appeared on campus on her birthday with an engagement ring and organised a public proposal.

She maintained that there had been no prior conversation about marriage between them, which made the situation shocking for her.

Because of the unexpected nature of the event, she said she had no choice but to reject the proposal in public.
